About Me

Biography:
G. Cam was born September 7, 1987. He was born in the Bronx, but moved to Spanish Harlem around the age of 3. G. Cam lived with his 2 brothers and his mom in a small 2 bedroom apartment. G. Cam developed his love for music in the early 90’s when he heard hip hop artist such as Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, etc. From then on, Cam started writing poetry. He explains how poetry was a way to escape reality. G. Cam states, “There were always fights and arguments going on in the house, and people used to always make fun of me when I went outside to chill. Poetry was a way to express my anger or whatever way I was feeling.” At the age of 11, G. Cam started writing songs. At the age of 14, Cam was writing songs daily as a hobby. He was constantly writing to get his flow up. When he was in High School, he started to freestyle. He thought that people who spit were really freestyling off the top, so he started freestyling to step his game up. In August of 2005, he took his music serious. He met a lot of people down south that dealt with music. G. Cam was doing well until his father died. After college Cam came back home for good. While he was back he worked on music with original beats where he made his first street hit called Get Money. From there G. Cam moved back to the city where he recorded tracks with his own studio equipment. He has been on a number of mixtapes and has put out his solo EP called Introduced to the game. G. Cam has matured from a young poet to a mature hip hop emcee. He is the next best thing to happen in the hip hop industry. With his great lyrical skills, great quick thinking and ideas, and experience from recording and engineering, G. Cam hopes to take over the hip hop scene by storm.
