About Me

MARJORIE JEAN, actor/writer/producer, has a BA from The Pennsylvania State University with a minor in dance. She has trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and continues to hone her craft under the tutelage of Barbara Montgomery. Her voice has been trained with the late Therman Bailey, Allison Starr and Nathan Lam.Marjorie has had the privilege of performing at LA MaMa ETC in New York City, joining the ranks of other fellow actor/director/playwrights like: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel, Diane Lane, Nick Nolte, Danny DeVito, Sam Shepard and Lanford Wilson. There she became a member of the Great Jones Repertory Company and has previously performed in: “Perseus,” “Dionysus Filius Dei” and “Expiration Date.” Abroad, she has performed at LA MaMa Umbria International (Spoleto, Italy) in: “Cacao Dolce” and “L’inizio del Dolore”.Marjorie has also had the opportunity to work with Prometheus’ Fire actor/ director/ playwright, Ray Aranha, who wrote the play “My Sister, My Sister;” which appeared on Broadway in 1974 and received the Drama Desk Award for outstanding new playwright. There she performed in: “Sugar Cane Fields,” “Skyy Piece” and “JB”.On film, Marjorie can be seen as Weasel in 2002’s “Go for Broke,” directed by Jean-Claude LaMarre, starring alongside Pras Michel. And, as Josefina in the 2008 comedy “Pitchers,” directed by Aaron Denenberg.
