About Me

I swear I'm not crying, it's just that my eyes water incessently when it's cold and windy outside. Not much compares to the feeling of brand new cotton socks. Mid-day naps are priceless. Prefer not to eat left-overs. I hate being cold but love snow. Love the water and hate nothing related to it. In general, don't ask me to pick a restaurant, you'll only frustrate yourself. I don't care to drive, but I enjoy being along for the ride. Spiders are scary regardless of size. Taking a trip and navigating an unknown place with a significant other speaks volumes of the relationship. I am a work in progress. I notice the little details. I thought it was finally warm enough to wear flip flops when it was 92 degrees. I have a tendency to underestimate my abilities and overestimate my clothing size.

My Interests

I have an incurable case of Wanderlust. Or maybe it's fear of being trapped in mediocrity cleverly disguised as the travelbug. Regardless, I've seen and done some interesting things around the world! I really enjoy being outside and being active but like to blend it a healthy dose of lazy time curled up on the couch.

I'd like to meet:

Does anyone know Rob Hocking?

Music:

Clever lyrics win regardless of genre.

Movies:

Loved "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Gladiator"It is impossible to top "The Big Lebowski" and "Office Space". Although "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" are up there. Enjoy a good drama but I have enough "heavy" stuff in life to deal with at the moment so mindless comedies are more likely to find themselves in my DVD player.Even though I really quite liked the Lord of the Rings, I will never watch any of them again. Period. Don't even put it in the DVD player. This is not a joke. You risk serious physical harm if you don't heed this warning. Trust me.

Television:

I used to adore CSI and other such shows. But in the last few months I simply can't sit still long enough to really get into them. Or maybe it's being constantly interupted...

Books:

Recent reads: "Stolen Lives" Malika Oufkir, "Reading Lolita in Tehran" Azar Nafisi, "Nickle and Dimed: On (Not) Getting by in America" and "Bait and Switch: The (Futile) Pursuit of the American Dream" Barbara Ehrenreich, "Educating Alice, Adventures of a Curious Woman" and "Without Reservations" Alice Steinbach, "The Good Earth" Pearl S. Buck, "Ali and Nino" Kurban Said, "The Bookseller of Kabul" Asne Seierstad, "Memoirs of a Geisha" Arthur Golden

Heroes:

My brother Travis!!!!! He's my favorite! :)
