She was born into a musically inclined Rastafarian family with roots hailing from Jamaica, W.I. At the tender age of five Makedah, who was constantly surrounded by music, found her young-self singing along to tunes. By the time she was 11 years old her natural singing abilities were further developed resulting from vocal training. She eventually recorded her first song My Boy Lollipop, a remake of Milly Smalls added with notes that complimented its original.
Makedah began writing her own lyrics and continued to improve her musical craft. By the time she arrived on the scene she already had a considerable amount of experiences. Known for her luring sharpness, and refreshingly raspy, soulful tone. Her blends of multi-cultural references are evident in her signature sound.
