About Me

On the road all summer and still helping promote his critically acclaimed debut album, “The Difference Engine.” Luke has played and some amazing events , most notably an outdoor event in San Fransico to celebrate July 4, the Bloom festival in Gloucester, but , the most wondrous being the amazing Piknik Electronique in A park in Montreal Canada. Luke has recently returned from playing Tokyo Stadium alongside long term friend Darren Emerson and has immersed himself back into the studio.Having spent the last 2 years writing and producing Damian Lazarus’s solo album, the pair have been holed up in a studio in London mixing it. The mixing has been taking place on a rather special mixing desk which is one of 2 in the entire world and belongs to Mark Ralph, party of Filthy Dukes. Built by Conny Plank and used on some seminal electronic albums that include Kraftwerks “Autobahn, most of the Can albums and Ultravox’ s Fade to Grey amongst many more classic electronic seminal album records. The album is set for release in April on Germany’s label of the minute, Get Physical. On top of this Freaks have been writing a whole heap of new material, inspired by a major interest in one of the UK’s labels of the moment. Everything is under wraps for the minute as Freak’s do not want to tempt fate once more, but look out for a new single that is Freaks moving their own electronic musicical style forward in a truly demonic fashion. The biggest news of late is that Luke has been asked by the legendary Radioslave to help produce his next single. This commences in September, so watch this space. On the Djing front Luke continues to host his residency @ the AKA which celebrated 10 years with an amazing party earlier in the month where he played alongside Basement Jaxx, Giles Peterson , the legendary Fabio amongst many more AKA regulars. The new Music for Freaks website is set for launch any day now. Hosted by the same company the host the marvelous Mr Scruffs website. The site has a whole host of features , live updates and free music and web shop that will have sought after merchandise and music and much more. Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter are also re launching the seminal Classic and Music for Freaks with a string on new releases that include remixes of back catalogue and a couple of newies thrown in for good measure. And finally: Kenny Hawkes and Luke have been approached by Stuart Patterson to host a Space Re Union @ East Village in Old St, London. The reunion takes place on 10th October.
