Bill Hicks

I was born in Valdosta, Georgia on December 16th 1961. At the age of 7 I moved to Houston and even back then I aspired to be a stand up comic. At the age of 13 I performed my first public show, at a summer camp talent contest, using my knowledge of Woody Allen's routines to win. Throughout school I would sneak out of the house at night and into comedy clubs to perform with my best friend Dwight Slade. By the time I left school in 1979 I was already causing what some might call 'a stir' with my alledgedly controversial stand-up routines. In 1980 I moved to Los Angles, where I starred alongside up and coming chat show host Jay Leno. A few years later I was doing over 250 shows a year, and was able to release my first album "Dangerous". This led to me being invited to appear at the "Just For Laughs" festival in Montreal, an event annually screened by channel 4 in the UK. The following year (1991), I appeared at the Edinburgh Festival and won the critics award. since my breakthrough tour of the UK, (Revelations Tour) and a series of controversial appearances on the David Letterman Show, I have released countless albums, videos and DVD's, and I continue to live as a vibration in the mind of the one true god, whose name is love.Click on videos to see me in action!!
