*El Sonero* Matthew Sanchez

Matthew Sanchez was born on December 22,1987 in Leominster, Ma. From his Childhood Matthew always wanted to sing whether it was songs of Boys2Men or Salsa from Tony Vega. Salsa music was always around him but he really didn’t have that much interest in it yet. Throughout his school years Matthew would enter talent shows and Chorus Competitions as they came throughout the years. In February of 2003 Matthew moved with his mother and two sisters to Worcester Ma. In a bigger city now, Matthew saw the many opportunities for his singing career. By this time Matthew had been exploring the many sounds and rhythms of his native Salsa music. Victor Manuelle, a salsa singer from Puerto Rico was Matthew’s inspiration to sing Salsa music. Matthew knew that Salsa music was his thing. In August 2004 was Matthew’s first live Salsa performance in Worcester. The Latino Festival attracted over 10,000 people that night and Matthew was scheduled to perform before the main act which was Hector Tricoche. The performance was a hit and Matthew knew that Salsa Music was going to take him to a new level. With the years passing by Matthew grew more as a performer and artist. Opening for such Latin Artist like: Dominic Marte, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Tito Allen, Monchy Y Alexandra, and La Sonora Poncena. Matthew also had the opportunity to travel to other states bringing his Native Salsa Music back to the people. “The People, I do this because the people support me. I’m grateful for that.” says Matthew on a TV interview with Jamie Flores. In 2005 after doing a concert with salsero Paquito Guzman, the people of Worcester Baptized Matthew with the name, “El Bebe De La Salsa” also means “The Baby Of Salsa Music” which many people call him by. Matthew is blessed to have the crowd by his side. Now “El Bebe De La Salsa” is on its way to becoming a well known name in the Salsa world. The year 2007 has bring many blessings. Matthew is traveling and bringing Salsa music to different states and venues. At the 2007 Worcester Latino Festival, Matthew had the honor of performing with one of Salsa’s greatest Orquestas Conjunto Classico. In this performance Matthew shows his experiences and learning’s towards the Salsa music. “A true Sonero!”-Raymond Castro from Conjunto Classico. The new year of 2009 brings a debut single for Matthew, titled “En Esta Cama Vacia”. Matthew hopes to bring his Salsa music around the world so every human being can move to the Latin beat .
