About Me

%D%A **EDUCATION** SFSU alumni with a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies and Asian American Studies and a California Culinary Academy graduate. Why double major AND attend culinary school? Well, I have always wanted to become a teacher, so I chose Liberal Studies. And, as for Asian American Studies? Somebody once told me that in order for one to fully understand themselves, they must learn their history first. Immediately after my college education, I decided to I enroll in the California Culinary Academy. I absolutely LOVE the art of baking and pastry. It's my passion and I enjoy it! %D%A%D%A %D%A%D%A**Family** My family consists of myself, my younger brother (Daniel) and my parents. Although our family is not perfect, we strive to ensure that things are intact. We love going for Sunday brunch @ our local tea house and going on annual vacations to Asia. My brother is a very sweet guy...he would also give me wake up calls for work and school and takes good care of our Grandmother since she just came home from surgery recently. My parents have been married for 25 years...and going. %D%A%D%A%D%A**Friends** I am absolutely BLESSED with many friends. Friends of different ethnicities so that I can learn from their cultures, friends of different backgrounds so that I can absorb varying beliefs and values and friends of different personalities so that we can rub off of each other. Random, yet interesting info:%D%A%D) I only possess one dimple%D) I have a huge scar on my left arm due to a hot pot mishap.%D) My chin cracked open and blood gushed out one Halloween (1st grade)%D) I got my period ON Halloween when I was 11.%D) I have a tat of a Virgo sign on the back of my neck and another of a tiger lily on my hip.%D) I cannot swim.%D) I am highly intrigued by the Latin (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc) culture.%D) I have an ugly underbite!%D) My grandfather grew up in Venezuela and spoke fluent Spanish.%D0) My Dad was my mom's teacher.%D2) I am corny--and not afraid to express my feelings.%D3) My brother & I thought about getting the same tattoo%D4) I pierced my navel, twice. And it left a scar, twice.%D5) I am allergic to shellfish.%D6) I ran into Ms. Hong Kong @ Forever 21.%D7) Russell Peters used me for one of his jokes.%D8) JIN asked me to be his date for his San Jose show and gave me a kiss.%D9) I can sign basics of American Sign Language.%D0) My brother loves me.%D%A%D%A%D%A

My Interests

Student involvement, learning about different identities and cultures (especially family relationships, ancestral languages and traditional foods) baking, cake-decorating, knitting, singing, dancing and educating CHILDREN!!!

I'd like to meet:

I would like to reunite with old friends and/or acquaintances, but simultaneously meet new ones.

Heroes:

My mother. This woman is truly phenomenal. She once gave up her own life in exchange for mine. In the operation room, she risked giving birth to me while she was suffering from high blood pressure and heart problems. Five UCSF doctors advised her to just give up on "this one", but she refused to do so.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there. These women are amazing...and I know first hand. My mom almost lost her life giving birth to me. It was a lose-lose situation on September 18th...
