David Leatherwood

Leatherwood has toured & recorded with dozens of bands & artists, serving as acoustic singer-songwriter, lead vocalist, bassist & guitarist (6 & 12-string). Equally comfortable in the role of frontman, band-member or sideman, David has traversed a variety of genres, approaching each project & song distinctly....As band-member, Leatherwood has played with major label acts MACH FIVE (Island) & STAR 69 (Hollywood); indie groups PURACANE (Ubiquity), THE PATTI ROTHBERG BAND (Cropduster) & EVIL JAKE; and NYC bands CHERRI REDD, CATWALK, JOHNNIE FOREIGNER, MISHAL ZEERA, ROI & THE SECRET PEOPLE & HER MAJESTY. Having opened for such bands as Depeche Mode, Aerosmith, Sting, Duran Duran, Live & Fuel, David has also toured England & completed a USO sponsored tour of US military bases in Bosnia, Kosovo and Iceland. Most recently, Leatherwood recorded a full-length album with his latest band APACHE STONE at renowned Sonalysts Studio and just completed taping for the group's upcoming appearance on the FX TV Series "Rescue Me"....As a solo artist, David achieved notoriety with his alternative-pop duo 2, whose debut, self-produced record (Albertine) yielded the single "Angel," which peaked at 12 on BillBoard’s A/C Chart, earning the duo recording sessions with legendary producer Tom Dowd at the Hit Factory in Miami....Leatherwood has also served as sideman for a wide-ranging number of artists: ERIN HILL (psychedelic folk/pop), LISA BIANCO (alt), JOSH RUTT (roots), ABBE RIVERS (blues/rock), LNTG (hip-hop/theatrical), THE FIGHTING (nu-metal) & PENELOPE LAWSON (pop/r&b)....Adapting his image, gear selection & playing technique accordingly, Leatherwood has developed his own unique, progressive style, sound and vision....“Stylistically Diverse, Aggressive & Melodic, Edgy but Accessible.”
