SSDC Motherfucker.

About Me

Hello. My name's Adam, and I'm 21.
I live in Birmingham some of the time.
And I live in Bridgnorth some of the time.
Life is ALL about the following things.
Weetabix for breakfast.
Loud music until 4am.
Dancing to Beach Boys.
Going to the Stable Bar.
Wearing shorts anytime of the year.
Wii Tennis.
Making/eating Hobnob related foods.
Drinking orange squash.
Taking photos in European cities.
The want to go to Russia.
Nothing else is worth bothering with.
I'm currently between my second and third year at the University of Central England, in Birmingham Studying Visual Communications and majoring in Photography. There's some examples of my work in the pictures section. I'm not usually swung into arty photography, as most of it tends to be a cliché, but I still do it non-the-less. You never know unless you try. I'm looking into going for commercial photography after Uni though, so we'll see where that ends up.
I prefer to be on the viewfinder side of a camera, and don't often stand infront of the lens unless I have to.
I seem to lead a bit of a quiet life, which suits me fine. Apart from going to shows I prefer quiet locations, whether it be a bar, cafe, outdoors somewhere or just at home.

My Interests

I'm just a...

Steak eating
Cluedo playing
Lucozade drinking
Photograph taking
Music listening
Degree doing
Beard growing
Scrubs watching
Rome travelling
Camera talking
Polystyrene hating
Light sleeping
... person.

Which is all it boils down to at the end of the day.

Some aspects of life bore me.
And others excite me.

My friends and family are the reality check I live for.

I own 21 cameras, and I regard them as detached limbs. Ranging from a Thunderbirds 110 film camera, through a Lomo 4-lensed Action Sampler to a Lubitel 120 TLR, ending at a Sony DLSR. Share the dream? Then hit me up... We can talk lenses and optics.

I am a live music photographer. And contribute to 4Q Radio an online radio station. Follow the links to the 4Q site, and to the Gig Photos section to preview some of my work.

If you'd like me to photograph you/your band/your dog etc. Then please message me or something.

Flashes of the lights.
Rumbling bass through your feet.
Like minded people throwing their fists in the air, singing at their favourite band.
Gigs are the best feeling in the world.
It's OUR place to shine.
And no-one can take that away from us.

Dance, sing, punch the air... No one cares. Everyone is there for the same reason. The music, and what it means to them. Expressionism at its' best.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody and everybody.

Russia, Russian people, and the guys behind Leica. They're ace. Somebody who would like to buy me a Leica M7 and/or give me a winning scratchcard, as I never fucking win.

Anyone who enjoys going to Hardcore shows around the Birmingham/Wolves area, as there seems to be a shortage.

People who want to join the MIGHTY Steven Seagal Dance Crew. Selection is tough, and training involves many a Seagal-marathon. But those who succeed may, one day, get a t-shirt!

Music:

At the moment I'm listening to the following bands ALOT.

Blood For Blood
Gorilla Biscuits
La Coka Nostra
Last Witness
Madball
Still Remains
The Postal Service
The Twang
Your Demise

But it changes. Quite often.

Movies:

Right now, I'm liking a bit of Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme. Who needs a good storyline when needless violence is involved?

But, notable films worth mentioning are...

Crash.
Human Traffic.
One Hour Photo.
Waynes World.

Anything by George Romero.

Television:

Lost
Prison Break
Family Guy
Simpsons
Scrubs
The Real Hustle
Neighbours

Books:

At the moment I'm reading "Leica: Witness to a Century".

Heroes:

STEVEN SEAGAL.

My Blog

My word.

ARGH. Why do I feel so detached from the real world? It seems the transition between busy stressful end-of-year at Uni, to bored-nothing-to-do life here in Bridgnorth is harder than I ever imagined. I...

It'd be nice

If after spending ages cleaning the house from top to bottom for a house inspection, that the rest of the occupying house would have the respect to at least maintain a certain level of cleanliness. It...

Hold it Down

I'm currently sitting here in a state of hyper-aggressive-restlessness. If that figures. I don't want to be sitting here, I want to be somewhere doing something remotely better than on Myspace, half w...

Get Real

It's been a while. A fair bit has happened since my last blog. Firstly, Rome. WOW. That place is amazing, and I could seriously go back and spend years there without getting bored. Taking in the sight...

It's judgement day. My "Designing a light" Elective module deadline is in just under 7 hours. And I wouldn't be too far off finishing, if I had an idea what the second 2 of the 4 presentation boa...

Catastrophy

Is one of the many words you can use to describe how my exam just went. Eurgh. Well it's over for now. No idea when I can resit it, if I can. Hopefully it'll give me some time to prepare this time. An...
