About Me

Mike Healey has been an obsessive music lover since he grew tall enough to reach his dad's record player. Through orchestras, bands and samplers, he has been playing and making music since he was 8. Eventually, his passion for the likes of Depeche mode, Soft cell, Ahex twin, & underworld drew him more and more towards producing electronic music. His music has an original and unusual sound which the self-taught Mike puts down to 'not knowing how to use any of my equipment properly', and has enjoyed praise and support from top djs, producers and journalists alike. His 2005 Ongaku ep, released on Sensei, was picked up by top names such as Dave Clarke, Cass & Ralph Lawson. Ongaku also received high praise from DJ magazine's highly respected Richard Brophy, who described mike as "a name to watch", "an adventurous producer who stands out from the crowd" As a dj, Mike came runner-up in IDJ magazine's dj comp, with a 22 track mix cd which defied pigeonholes by blending hip hop, drum & bass, breaks, house and techno, epitomosing Mike's firm belief that music should be experienced as a whole, regradless of genre, beats, tempos or other distinctions. He has played at clubs such as Turnmills, with djs such as Mr C, James Talk and Pure Science. He has also clocked up several radio 1 plays from Fergie, Nic Fancilli and The Trophy Twins. His collaborations with the widely respected Dave Robertson enjoyed healthy support from the likes of Paul Woolford, James Zabiela & Funk D'Void while his solo work has featured on the set lists of Ben Watt, Dave Clarke, Terry Francis & Carl Cox (Kiss FM), as well as featuring in charts from Deep Dish, Harold Heath, Murray Richardson and Gus Gus.Mike is currently hard at it on one or two personal projects and a number of remixes....watch this space.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
