About Me

Back in 1994 a small group of boys had a vision. We wanted to change the way that people looked at rap culture and music. It is a very common practice to view rap with a negative eye, especially today. Un-enriched tracks promote gangsterism, gunplay, drugs, and violence as well as the lust of money over life. Hip-Hop was founded to be a language, a code by which we (anyone who is part of the culture) would communicate, express our views, concerns, and teachings to others. Someone saw how powerful this engine was and decided to put some bad "fuel" into it. Now, most of today's rap is the product of this. There is lots of bragging about what you have while most of your listeners are struggling, about taking the lives of others, and nonsense violence that young listeners take way too seriously. It is simply a machine... a mere tool used in many different ways besides the original way it was intended.Dust Dipped Music is here to continue with that old vibe. We want to take it back to where it left off back in the early 90's. Where rhymes were clever, punch-lines really hit you hard, and you could really learn something from the track. Not taking anything away from today's current artists, but we are just striving for something different. We aim to free the chains of commercialized music. Most fans only hear what they are forced to listen to and its very evident which image MTV, BET, and radio stations across the nation want us to portray.
