About Me

The Hillworms were a band that formed back in the mid-90s, comprised of fellow musician friends. The original intent of the band was just to get together, play some music and drink some beer. Well, that we did, and a lot of it! At one point of our drinking jam sessions, one of the guys booked us for a gig at a local bar. Well, the rest is history. We continued to play that bar and many others over the next 5 years and created a pretty good following. I suppose what made us different was that we were semi-unplugged and we all sat on bar stools. Kind of a Crosby Stills and Nash thing, with a similar approach to 3 and 4 part harmonies. At times, I would switch from accoustic guitar to a snare and a cymbal, just to add a beat to some of the tunes. That combination drew a very diverse crowd, from the youngsters who liked when we rocked, to the the older crowd who liked to be able to hear the words to the songs for a change. Actually, a lot of musicians would show up to listen because they found it interesting. A few members of Cheap Trick used to come by and on occasion would sit in. After a few years of gigging, we decided to make a cd of our original music. By this time, we had evolved into a 5 piece band with drums. I hope you enjoy listening and you are welcome to download. If you want to hear more or want to purchase a cd, please leave a message and contact information.
Enjoy.......Gil Donze
