About Me

Before we get started with the biography, I just want all of you to know that this is a site for musicians and music fans. If you are selling a naked pics website or some other kind of internet business, do not ask me to add you.... Because I won't.Bruce Shockley is a multi-talented musician who got his start playing guitar at the age of eight in the hub of the Coachella Valley, Indio, CA. He continued with music all the way through high school, and after graduating joined the Army where he played guitar, bass, drums or any instrument where he was needed in the Army Band program for eight and a half years. While in the Army Band, Bruce played for two US presidents and several major dignitaries. He had two oversees assignments: Ansbach, Germany (thanks to Allen Lawless at euphiola.net for the accurate recollection of the events of that time.) and Seoul, Korea. He also performed in several other countries (and speaks five languages). While stationed in Korea, he recorded four jazz albums with the incomparable Fred Hughes Jr. and Kim Jun in the band "Just Friends", and sang on Korean television. After his tour of duty was complete, Bruce went on to become a 5th grade band director in Palm Springs, CA where he taught approximately 1,000 students. During this time he continued his own musical education and performance, becoming more proficient at playing many other instruments including saxophone, clarinet, and bassoon. While on a visit to Nashville, TN Bruce decided to broaden his musical experience by delving into the Country Music Genre and moved to the "Music City". During his twelve years there, he performed with several well-known artists such as Bryan White, Toby Keith, The Bellamy Brothers, The Randall Brothers, Lonestar, Steve Wariner, Charlie Daniels and The Marshall Tucker Band.Bruce is now living in southwest Michigan where he runs his recording studio and publishing company, Smooth Melon Productions. He is also still teaching music to private students, as well as continuing his writing and performance. Quote for the day: "Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end"
