About Me

RareEpiphany is a soulful singer, talented songwriter, gifted lyricist and insightful and profound poet. When songwriters and lyricists are simply telling stories, Rare is sharing life experiences through her songs and while some poets are performing "verbal gymnastics" Pamela is bringing our language to life with profound words of hope and optimism. Each aspect of Pamela's artistry compliments the other making her one of the most amazing multi-faceted artists to hit the scene in recent years. Her motive is simple To spit fire into microphones that she might inspire a generation; to rekindle revolution through the power of revelation. In an industry where aesthetics are emphasized while vocal prowess, skill, and substance are secondary; where sampling isnt always an adornment but an effort to hide ineptitude calls out a lone voice: a welcomed and refreshing one. It is the voice of one crying in the vast wilderness of our current world. She is a foresight; a future forecast of stardom; A Rare Epiphany. We listen to her speak; feel the ebb and flow of each word as she breathes new life into them and, for the first time in what feels like forever, we throw up our hands and say, Thats It!. Somehow, she makes the poetry mean something deeply personal to you. This woman stands on stages and invites you into her life. Shows become more like sitting on a porch swing on a lazy summer afternoon sipping iced tea with an old friend than a performance. Shes honest and shes real. She creates her poetry under the 'nom de plume' RareEpiphany. Shes also known as Pamela Best. When asked about her chosen name, she says this, "Rare means unique and Epiphany means divine revelation. When you discover the uniqueness of who you are and gain the knowledge of whose you are, you become empowered to fulfill your special purpose in life. RareEpiphany is the name I use when creating my work, but I feel that everyone is a Rare Epiphany - a unique and divine revelation of the Most High". Pamela is from what she describes as a "itty-bitty town" in North Carolina. She grew up singing in church, and continued with various choirs and groups. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1995 and has made an indelible stamp on the hard to impress music and poetry community here. She has been featured on numerous recordings, traveled with two stage plays, and was lead vocalist for Atlanta's premier Gospel/Jazz group KOMPANI (with whom shes recorded 3 albums) for almost 10 years. She has performed at the Atlanta Jazz festival, The Montreux Atlanta Music Festival, the RiverBend Music Festival in Chattanooga, Tn., Suwanee Jazz Festival, and the Bayfest Music Festival in Mobile, Al. and opened for jazz greats Gerald Albright, Stanley Clarke, Alex Bugnon, Gato Barbieri, David Sanborn (3 times), The Rippingtons, Euge Groove, Steve Oliver, Rick Braun, and Norman Brown

Layout by CoolChaserI fall to pieces every time I see this. Sometimes you gotta fight to get to the Master, but if you reach out....sometimes kicking and screaming....I promise he will reach back..pull you out...cover you...protect you...take your place..hallelujah!
