drawing without the pressure of actually producing anything of worth, I tend to enjoy doing the opposite of what I should be doing at any given moment. Gymnastics, handstands on the plane, handstands everwhere, backhandspings while intoxicated, NPR, podcasts, making people laugh, laughing until I cry, attempting new recipes, reading on the jumpseat, jumpseat therapy, finding new music (recommendations wanted!)...
Brian Lehrer
I owe most of this section to my brother, who has introduced me to tons of great music! Except he still doesn't like Phish. I don't get it, here goes:
Phish, Beatles, Classical, Bela Fleck, Belle & Sebastian, Billy Holiday, Bob Dylan, Clinic, Elton John, Elvis Costello, Eric Bachmann, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, Janis, Jimmy Buffett (woo!), Kinks, Lauryn Hill, Les Claypool, Lou Reed mostly, Louden Wainwright III because he makes me laugh!, Meat Puppets/muppets, Modern Lovers, Nirvana, Ozzy, man! Paul Simon, Pavement, Pink Floyd, Pixies, REM, Sean Lennon, Smiths, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, Television, Tenacious D, Tina Turner's 'Private Dancer'/Jemma singing it, Velvet Underground, Violent Femmes, and others...
(I know I'm a huge dork)
Pee Wee's Big Adventure & Mean Girls. Nuff said.
The Daily Show, Colbert Report, TCM lately, Project Runway, and my guilty pleasure= America's Next Top Model. I really don't know why I love that show so much, but I do, okay?
I've always liked Stienbeck. Of Mice and Men was the first book to make me cry. I've been reading a lot of Hemingway lately, also makes me cry. Kurt Vonnegut blows my mind! David Sedaris makes me laugh.
My mother, sister, and lots of others I'll bet you could figure out, like Gandhi and such. Thanks for checking out my profile!
