Sir Hugh Patrick Hoblyn Oliver, nee 1929, loyal subject of the great British Empire (you know that little island polluting Europe?) musician, poet, novelist and sculptor. All poor paying, yet vital professions to the cultural and intellectual development of mankind (his parents were so proud). In addition to these talents, Hugh still uses his fancy education in Chemistry from Englands prestigious Keele University, to mix unbelievable cocktails with 190 proof alcohol, and has an alchemists golden touch with hangover cures. In 1960, Hugh immigrated to Canada where he developed an illustrious career as Editor-in-Chief of OISE Press at the University of Toronto and met loads of birds with the line Im a publisher, pet. Hugh has since retired, trading in his material pursuits to fully dedicate himself to his artistic ones. He is the published author of many books and volumes of poetry and hosts a weekly poetry reading series at Torontos Tranzac Club, where he also performs jazz standards with his band The Foolish Things. Youthenagia, Hughs experimental musical collaboration with Michael Rosie Rosenthal, has met with critical acclaim (their parents are so proud) and songs from their first release Perchance have been featured on film and television. Hugh is currently working with Rosie on their second album, and is writing and recording songs for a new solo project. He is the proud papa of four and is currently overseeing the breeding of an army of super-intelligent grandkids with whom he will take over the world. A valuable contributer to Torontos literary and music scenes, Hugh is a muse to hundreds of avid followers who are inspired daily by his enormous talent, spirit, and energy.
