ACADIA was formed in the early stages of November as a 2 piece band by Rich (Guitar and Vocals) and Joel (Drums and some Back-Up Vocals), We want to mix the styles of post hardcore, indie, acoustic, and screamo to bring an experience almost anyone can enjoy. Later on we found Pete (Bass) who completes the three piece full sound we have today. Currently ACADIA is working on writing our new and unfortunately untitled CD due in 2008 along with some kick ass merch. Until then we ask that you come out and support us at our shows and have a crazy and fun time with us because we love to meet people and party with them.
And finally . . . We are Acadia and we will eat your kids . . .
The Definition of Acadia!
ACADIA - No real definition is available except that it is - A region and former French colony of eastern Canada, chiefly in Nova Scotia but also including New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton Island, and the coastal area from the St. Lawrence River south into Maine. During the French and Indian War (1755-1763) many Acadians migrated or were deported by the British to southern territories, including Louisiana, where their descendants came to be known as Cajuns.
How We Found It - One day a long time ago we were searching for names after coming up with some stupid ones like Take It Or Leave It and Upon This Burning Blade (yeah yeah theres a lot of jokes for that one) I, Rich, was in school looking through my World History book because i was bored and saw it and was like hey thats pretty cool, and ever since the name just stuck, so there you go, thats what Acadia is.
We also plan to give it a kick ass definition one day.
