A little historical summary of AlWest:
AlWest has been an underground presence in the music industry for many years. Building on his classical music training he has, since the age of 12, been experimenting with music technology and composition.
Recognised for his foresight and innovation, he was signed to Universal (then Polygram) at the age of 22. His first single immediately caught the attention of numerous labels such as Sony/Trema and Mercury. His abilities to seamlessly blend the acoustic and the electronic gained the interest of MTV and the Festival de Montreux when he remixed the Moroccan Gnawa artist Hamid El Gnawi. He was subsequently invited to play at the festival with Hamid on one of the major stages in front of 3000 people. Lately his talent with sound has led to collaborations with artists such as José Carreras when he edited, engineered and mastered the single of “Dolce Suono” at the request of the producer, subsequently distributed in 200,000 copies.
Experimental and yet musical, AlWest's talents allow the borders between the acoustic and the electronic to fade away. It is this humanising of technology and modernisation of the traditional that gives AlWest his unique sound.

AlWest Presents: Project Pi
Project Pi was the first truly independent music production by AlWest. It is an album that was never intended for commercial release and, as such, retained an artistic purity and vision that is rare in today's environment. It is a work that is symbolic of cooperation and creative sharing, featuring a number of contributors from around the world that gave their time and energy generously. Finally, after many years and prompted by demand, the album is available to download at a very discounted rate from iTunes.
