About 'me'?
Why the name 'Urbanmonk'? To me, Urbanmonk, simply means being a Christian - To be in the World and yet, not a product, nor commodity of it.
Anachronism is a good description of me.... of what era, I do not know?? Get to know me and my life will show you that I'm a hypocrite... I do not like that aspect of myself but I am human and trapped within the frailties of flesh - Call me on it and help keep me in check. Intellectually adventurous. Theoretical. Conceptual. A Mansion of Thought. Dissident. An Hourglass of Curiousity. Stealth fighter for the cause - I'll peel back the layers. Counter to the dystopian world system the devil has a temporary control over. I despise vanity, people who morf to the influence of their peers, corporate sell outs, fakes, cheats, liars, betrayers, ALL who are easily influenced by the enticements of "worldly entertainment", image chasers... it's PANDEMIC! (these things I mention are the "characteristics" that I despise - it is not the "people" I despise, but rather their choice of behaviors). I love the imagery and artscape of Nature... People as well. I GREATLY respect honesty, loyalty, faithfulness, intelligent individuality, and those who are NOT victims of mass marketing.... especially "Religion".
I like to be invisible to others, undetected. I hate attention. People watching is a favorite pasttime--anyone -child, adult, elderly, disabled, etc. People are beautiful and every one of them has a story. I watch.... and wonder about their stories. I pray for strangers. I love solitude. My love for solitude can get me into trouble. If you were to get to know me--truly get to know the true me, what I am deep within this cavern where I hide--you would hate me as much as I hate myself. That is why I like to be as invisible to others as possible. But you..... you're wonderful.
Outside of the box - Boxes, well, they box us in. They rob us of life, they anesthetize us, they limit us, they blind us. Boxes, after all, are what they bury us in. So who wants to live in one?
I welcome communication and dialogue with EVERYONE.... even people in boxes ;-)

MY INTERESTS - to name a few, are: The Creator And All Things That Reveal His Reflection, people - especially their spiritual side, outdoors/all things scenic, nature, animal wildlife, hiking, photography, sociology, mma/mixed martial arts (muay thai, jiu jitsu, pankration, judo, submissions, freestyle), all things offroad, sincere conversation and friends, dogs/animals, MEANINGFUL tattoos, observation, reading, learning, listening, expression, experiencing......... I bow down to worship Him, our LORD and GOD..... Our LORD and SAVIOR - JESUS CHRIST

I'd like to meet:

AMIGOS!

Sincere, genuine, authentic people that acknowledge and reverence Jesus. I also have interest in the irreverant who wind up wanting to understand and know Jesus.
I'm also interested in hearing from those of whom my profile pisses off - Be certain not to judge me based on your ignorance. Writing me, telling me what sort of judgment you have of me based upon the content of my profile is welcomed... with one caveat - explain why.
Bottom line, I'm interested in meeting ANYONE, and we'll take it from there.

Music:

Could be just about anything depending on the mood. Though I hate the "yo yo yo baby" hip hop, rape music crap!

My musical interests are far too varied to list. I can listen to, and appreciate just about all things that aren't degrading in anyway toward anyone.

Movies:

I generally wind up appreciating movies that move my heart in a way that causes me to be a better person. The movie can be as crazy and wild as hollywood can possibly emulate or create....... so long as in the end, the morality of, or change in the "bad" becomes something good.

Television:

Sure....If it's not crap

Books:

sociology/social psychology, philosophy, anything that contributes to moral and ethical intelligence. Commentary style books about the Spirit of Christianity written predominantly by authors who died a long time ago.

Heroes:

Gotta say it - LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.
Also... Rebels for the "right" reasons - there are few. Most, are those who've had the conviction and fortitude to apply Biblical principals to their lives such as "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind". It's hard.... incredibly hard, so those who live it are my heroes.
