About Me

19th January 2008 - I am really proud and extremely happy to have Paul Ewing singing a remix of my song Stop Messing Around in his own unique, inimitable style. If you haven't discovered him yet on MySpace then your next stop has to be www.myspace.com/ewingsmusic - I think his big break is now only just around the corner with pundits describing him as an amalgamation of Prince, Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley. Check out the reviews on his site - absolutely fantastic!

The remix was expertly and professionally done by Oyvind Aamli a writer and producer who grew up in Norway now living in London. You can check him out at www.myspace.com/oyvin.

I've stopped gigging for the time being to develop my song writing skills and in that process collaborate with talented male and female singers looking for a musician / songwriter to work with.

My first memory of wanting to play an instrument was around age four making pretend guitars with my brothers and using tight rubber bands for the strings. You'd think that my first real instrument would be a guitar but when I got home from school around 8 years old there was a piano in the hall and that was it...........classical piano lessons for me and my two brothers.

I was soon enroled into playing for the choir in church which was a fantastic way of learning to play by ear. I picked up the guitar in church by 'fiddling around' but showed a lot of potential and to this day will never forget Brother Anderson coming around to our house and telling my mum and dad that I should be playing guitar. Not having much money my parents said they would think about it. Brother Anderson was insistent and came around the following week and took me to Fisher's music shop in Derby and bought me an electric guitar. I was totally hooked and the rest as they say is history.

Any success or notoriety I achieve in music I will dedicate to my parents and Brother Anderson.

I've play many different styles of music on piano, guitar and bass that includes classical, jazz, soul, R&B, rock and flamenco. I've played in numerous bands and done lots of session work for soul, reggae and rock bands plus around 3 years with Derbyshire Youth Jazz Orchestra on guitar in my earlier years.

Stop Messing Around is my latest song (August 2007) and features a fabulously talented singer from Bristol, Charlotte Cameron whom I worked with for a week prior to going in the studio. Charlotte epitomises the type of singer I love working with - very professional, dedicated to getting the best sound, unflappable in the studio where she prefers to put on a performance rather than record line by line. Feel free to check her out also at http://www.myspace.com/charlottecameronband

I've been developing my writing over the years and the songs Bring You Back Again and All Over were written years ago and sung by a very shy Caroline Bertoux from Reading whom I have lost contact with since she moved away.

I am currently working with some excellent male and female vocalists on a number of new songs which I can't wait to add to site over the coming months.

As mentioned earlier, I am keen to develop my song writing through collaborating with talented singers and songwriters and would love to hear from anyone interested in starting a new project. The songs listed here are all unsigned and open for a publishing approach or from an artist looking for new material.I would love to hear from you and get your feedback also.
