Well I guess I'm pretty open to just about aything but I'll always be a die hard fan of the 50's, 60's, and 70's rock.(Led Zepplin, Cream, Deep Purple, King Crimson, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn) But I'm very into emo right now The Mars Volta, The Used, The Muse, My Chemical Romance, Dashboard Confessional, The Killers, Interpol, The Thrills, The Strokes, The Sills etc. Not so much a fan of country and could probably live the rest of my life without having to listen to that or whiny jazz. I can stand "pop"(Britney, Jessica, Ashley, Christina, Nelly, 50 Cent, etc.) music for a limited time only. The newer "rock" thats been coming out is a little disappointing in the talent area but doesn't make me want to kill myself with the repetitive lyrics of the last couple of years. So altogether I think if you turned on the radio I might be able to contain my projectile vomit for a reasonable amount of time but if it's up to me I'd prefer to stick to my CD collection or the oldies but goodies. Also who doesnt like tech n9ne, brotha lynch, celly cell, etc.
do we really need another tirade here? so heres just a little list: Willow Grandmas Boy The Dark Crystal The Great Santini Heavy Metal V for Vendetta Full Metal Jacket Monty Python: Holy Grail Saw and sequels Night of the Living Dead and all the sequels and all other cheesy horror films.
I LOVE PRISON BREAK!!!!! BUT... If for some odd reason all of the tv stations and cable providers decided they'd like to stop reducing the IQ's of the public and ceased to exist, I definatly wouldnt be one to complain. But if I'm so bored that I just have to switch on the old boob tube I guess I'd be watching Law and Order, Kids in the Hall, Aquateen Hunger Force, Family Guy, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, and just about anything they air on comedy central. I mean if you are being forced to watch mindless entertainment you might as well go for the gold and support Comedy Central the epitome of mindless dribble but at least it makes you shoot milk out of your nose so why not? Also no one can deny just how funny Absolutely Fabulous really is.
Ah books the only saving grace of the American public. If you put it in front of me Im going to read it, anything to save me from tv. Now although there are some quite juvenille series' being aimed at the general masses i dont consider them real reading material (ie The Harry Potter series) Hand me some J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, Wally Lamb, Lisa Jewell, William Golding, F. Scott Fitzgerald, or J.D. Salinger and Im one little happy camper, I think you get the idea. But Im always open to suggestions.
I dont really think that anyone should be considered a hero because i think that puts them on too much of a pedestal, as if they were inhuman, or never did anything wrong. I believe that everyone should learn from their mistakes and that makes them a good person. I can, though, see people as an inspiration, someone you would like to be like but not be. I respect a lot of people that always follow their hearts and do what they set out to do. I also appreciate people that do the little things for any purpose and never care about the credit, they just do it because they are passionate about what they do.
