The Parties

About Me

The Parties play music inspired by 60's bands like the Who, Kinks, & The Velvet Underground and modern bands inspired by the 60's like Teenage Fanclub, The High Dials, & Luna. Our debut full length "Can't Come Down" on Rainbow Quartz is out now and is available at iTunes and finer record stores everywhere. Here's what the press is saying...
Solid jangly power pop band channels fellow retro guitar-pop revivalists like Outrageous Cherry and the Red Button – Popmatters.com
Can't Come Down is loaded with luscious, '60s-derived psych/power pop tunes that would make Brian Jonestown Massacre jealous. - The Big Takeover
There's a graceful psychedelic drift in the Parties' brand of jangle pop that sets them apart from the dozens of other bands that worship at the altar of Roger McGuinn. The songs mine the rich melodic frameworks of classic folk-rock along with the minor-key twists of later acid-era stuff. - Allmusic.com
The Parties' debut is a winning batch of '60s mod pop. There's not a song on here that would sound out of place blaring from the speakers of a boutique on Carnaby Street. - Caughtinthecarousel.com
The Parties have clearly found their forte in the sugary hooks and airy vocal harmonies that run through laid-back, pillowy tracks – Ink19.com
Can't Come Down draws many of its obvious inspirations from mild-psych 60s poppers from the golden era of rock melodicism, with a sonic lineage that figures to lead directly to the Kinks family garage. - Panpot.com
Fans of bands like The Charlatans, Ride, and Spirea X will love the chiming, tremulous, Byrdsian guitar figures, harmonies that float on a cloud, and very strong hooks which permeate each tune on Can’t Come Down - Amplifier Magazine
These guys, are mop tops who love their reverb and Rickenbackers. This is the band's debut, and hopefully there will be many more albums to come. - Blurt-online.com
