About Me

The Tragedy In Evil
The Dangerous Art Of Exploring Derelict Buildings
R.I.P. Jason Wakefield
Jason Wakefield is a musician who plays uniquely disturbing music on an electric piano. Having only started teaching himself to play from 2004 within the confines of his suburban bedroom, his clear obsession to reach perfection has amounted to such a skill at piano that has to be seen to be believed. One moment he'll delicately carress the piano like a lover, and the next he'll thrash it like an enemy. Blending a whole range of influences from horror film scores, progressive, electronic, industrial and heavy rock music, Jason has formulated a stand-alone concoction of violent classical-rock music that you won't hear the likes of anywhere else.
Jason has made quite a name for himself on the local circuit through his bombastic, theatrical live performances, and not one to shy away from controversy he has also created strange music videos for myspace and youtube that feature him getting naked, breaking into derelict buildings, or simply sitting still and drooling for an hour.
In his lyrics he tackles such topics as art, religion, politics, discrimination, homosexuality, suicide, and the apocalypse, and how this all ties in with his personal feelings and philosophies. There is a deep undercurrent of genuine emotion in much of the music, and a black sense of irony and humour in the rest.
It is evident that Jason has a passion to innovate, and to revolutionise how art is perceived - after all, art can be anything you want it to be, which is why all art is as important as it is irrelevant.

Sounds Like: "A lovesick heretic at a blood-stained piano in the black-fire sky of the apocalypse, punching your face beautifully".

Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls once told me she loved my music, and compared it to her beloved early Legendary Pink Dots stuff.

No, not the heartwrenching sob film with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. I mean this Joe Black: I fucking love him. He reminds me of Tom Waits, whom I only just found out was in my favourite...
