I am originally from Chicago where I opened for the likes of: Koko Taylor, Isaac Hayes, Dennis Miller, Orlando Jones, and R. Kelly to name a few. I have be a featured artist for "Soul Nite" Chicago and opened up for Bernie Mac on several occasions for his filmed comedy show at Milt Triniers.
I worked with R. Kelly for a spell-that was entertaining-stories for another day...and have collaborated with many singer/songwriters both east and west and enjoyed it very much.
Now I am working on originals and performing at places in NYC (the groove, the bitter end, Cafe' Wha?, and more.) You can also hear me doing some work on my good friend's album, Malik Yusef. His album on Universal records is, "The Great Chicago Fire, a Cold Day in Hell". He's been calling me "Frankie Blue Eyes" since we came up together at the Cotton Club and that's how you'll find me. You may recognize Malik from his work on albums such as, Carl Thomas, Erica Badu, Twista, Common, and more.
. I am an equity actor/singer as well and have most recently worked on a musical now starring Stephanie Mills and Melba Moore called, "If this Hat Could Talk"...I audition regularly for both film, tv, theatre, and musicals.
Currently, I am co-producing an exciting new work called "Hereafter"-a musical about what happens when we die? It weaves in and out of all the questions that we have about life after death, will we see our loved ones? how are we all connected? so far, Danny Aiello is singing and is the Lead role of the psychic/medium, we have Lorraine Serabian working with us (Tony nominee for "Zorba the Greek"), as well as Marni Nixon (Multi-Tony winner/West side Story, My Fair Lady and more), and I, as well, have a leading role as Anita Moriarity, a B movie actress who died way before her prime and now guides the souls in the afterlife. It's really exciting-I started off as just one of the actors, but now, as I have gotten more involved-I have been retitled as Vocal arranger and Co-Producer. So I am so excited about this project-It is written by the VP of late night programming for CBS, who has his own amazing background and has put out an amazing body of work that I am proud to be a part of. After we get this up and running, he has asked me to work on a screenplay with him and already there are a couple of studios who have expressed interest!! So between that and working on my own material when I get the time, I'm loving what I'm doing and continue to thank God for blessing me and my family.
