Vina Mills

About Me

WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD.. COMING SOON!!
Vina Mills
While being raised in the city where legends are born,
it's no surprise that she is no stranger to the stage.
Born deep in the realm of Motown Detroit, Vina Mills was raised in a musical home.
Blessed to parents Nedjala and Vincent along with an inspired twin brother on July 24, 1984.
Vincent was a singer, songwriter and a very defined guitar player.
He spent most of his years in Los Angeles persuing his career,
writing for different artists, producing music,
and performing at a host of venues simply trying to become a star.
With having to put his dreams aside becauseof the birth of his twins (Vina and Vincent Jr.),
he was determined to live hi life like dream through them.
While most five and six year old girls were home playing with Barbies,
Vina Mills was set on becoming the female Michael Jackson.
By the age of seven, Vincent had her singing, dancing, and was slowly teaching her
how to write her own lyrics as well.
Three months before her eigth birthday,
Vina Mills watched her father
along with his dreams of her becoming a star burn to death in a house fire.
Shortly after, she was forced to watch her mother become a drug addict.
With so much abuse from her mother's actions, she and her two brothers,
Keith and Vincent Jr., were sent to foster homes.
Being the only girl, she had to live in a different foster home from them.
Shortly after "The angel of the family", her grandmother, Rosalie Miller (Vincent's mother)
came to rescue them from foster care. Rosalie, aka Grandma Rose,
raised them with health and great dignity from there on.
With going through so much at a very young age,
she soon lost motivation of becoming a star.
To even see a real life microphone brought back bad memories.
Vina Mills decided to dedicate her life to the world of dance.
Being introduced to every aspect of dance,
hip-hop was the form that allowed her to articulate her emotional day-to-day struggles.
Vina Mills created great success throughout her dancing career.
She along with here dance group (close friends)
has opened shows for Dru Hill, Erika Badu, Isley Brothers and a host of Detroit artists.
In 2004, she placed second in a national dance competition
on BET's 106 & Park hosted by Usher.
Even with having great success as a dancer, something was still missing.
Vina Mills gave up her fear of singing and accepted God and all of his gifts.
"Today is a new day". She is no longer "Vina the Dancer",
she is now Vina Mills, the Entertainer".
With help from close high school friend, and Atlantic Recording artist Rashad Morgan (Ray Ray),
Ms. Mills is determined to make her father's dream into a reality.
"I know he's smiling on me, and through my achievements , I continue to smile back"

Vina Mills is in no way, shape, form or fashion your typical average run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter artist. With a swagger that is reminiscent of a young Mary J., and a stage show that could rival that of Janet Jackson, this diva is quickly making her presence felt.

No stranger to the stage, Mills began grinding her performance chops at the tender age of six under her late father, Vincent Revel. Through his training, the dancer/singer-songwriter developed a unique gift for expressing herself through music.

Now, as a woman of incredible strength and character, Mills has taken a number of life challenges, pain, and struggle and channeled it all to into becoming the ultimate entertainer. With a passion and soulfulness that can be audibly felt through the sonic waves of her music, Vina Mill’s style of hip-hop, R&B soul is sure to please even the most cynical critics.

“It’s kind of different,” she describes of her music, “My type of ballad wouldn’t be the average love story or sob story. The message might be about love or whatever it may be, [but] I’ll make it sound fly. It won’t be a typical way of writing or a typical way of sounding.”

To her credit, Mills has opened for notable artists such as the Isley Brothers, Mary J. Bligde, Lil Wayne, and Alantic recording artist Ray Ray. She has also toured as a dancer for Lloyd, Young Joc, and Sammie.

With her trailblazing style of music, dynamic stage show, and backing of the new Detroit mega-label, Live the Music Group, this musical maven is poised to take the
industry by storm! So if you don’t get the call don’t worry,
the message will still come through loud and clear. Get
ready because Vina Mills is coming soon to a pair of
speakers near you!
