In July 2003, the CiTiZen crew gets an email from JLF with an mp3 file attached. An unknown track, which caught Vitalics attention, but no name, nothing. We know that JLF is fond of electronics, and that he has sent his music to CiTiZen and only to CITIZen. His real name is Cyril Thévenard, and he had already released the VLCAN E..P.on Choice Records in 1997. Less tuff, but still radical, JLF strikes back with the Volt Age EP, six years later. We are discovering a thirty-year-old man, with an original and artistic identity which are backed up by a stunning live performance. A new citizen has joined us, for your body and ears pleasure ! His first vinyl opus had been praised by major producers & the first CD project of this Dijon Based musician is a kind of darker and colder style, keeping a strong diversity in the tracks. This project is aimed at the electronic scene and at the deejays but also at a pop-rock audience not used to vynils. Talking about the music....well start from the acid & mechanical « Music is not computer algebra » passing through the massive-electro of « George » and the Moroder trip of « So far away ». The unpublished epileptic remix of « Personal jesus », a sacred union of trance music, hypnotic climb, huge beat and saturated frequencies still remind of the original. « Erase my anger » is an electro-pop hymn with "technoïd" emanations. « Never Change» is an electro /breakbeat tale ornate by the filtered vocals with hip-hop tone and finally «Slavery », is a travel to the SM/Fetish universe on hitch beats with "trash" lyrics. In Bonus, some short synthetic tracks cary out this project... In April/ September 2006, the Debaser Cd gets a worldwide distribution. The vinyl version is to be out in 3 parts. The PART 1, out since January include "Personal Jesus" , "Slavery" & "Erase my anger", it's already a bestseller vinyl..... PART 2 includes a remix by ALAN BRAXE & "Music is not..." (JLF project remix) remixed by JLF himself and out since June. PART 3 will be out in September, with a remix by the sexy duo Scratch Massive & a huge surprise... JohnLord will also appear in major french rock / electro festivals : Printemps de Bourges, Route du Rock hiver, Art Rock, Scopitone, Nuits Sonores etc.... A new version of the album, Debaser V2, has been released in may 2006, including remixes by Scratch Massive, Alan Braxe and 2 remixes by JLF himself...
