About Me

I've been wondering what to write in the section; there's a lot about me, and most of it is contradictory. Should I put in the bad stuff? The good stuff? The boring stuff? I dunno. I'm non-traditionally traditional. I love working but not going to work. I'm a loner who craves quality social interaction. I relate to the penguins in Madagascar (you didn't see anything!). I'm confident in my non-confidence. I guess you should stop asking me and think what you want.

My Interests

Writing, reading, film, art -- well, all "the arts". I also have a slight interest in examining the human condition, making my skin smoother and less red, being happy in an imperfect body, and people who are intriguing but only by my own standard ("elitism") :-)

I'd like to meet:

I already know several cool people. Do I need to meet more? YES: Yasen Peyankov, who I'm going to attempt to meet when I go see him in "The Pillowman" at Steppenwolf this fall!
Julie took the free ColorQuiz.com personality test!
"Longs for tenderness and for a sensitivity of feel..."

Music:

I'm open to all kinds of music, especially as I get older. But I'm a "song" girl rather than a follower of a "type" of music. I can listen to PJ Harvey, Holly Cole, G. Love, Waylon, and Bob Seger all in one session, but it just depends on the song. :-)

Movies:

I'm a movie freak, although I can't say I love all movies. Shawshank and Same Time, Next Year are two of my all-time favorites, but when I'm just vegging out on Sunday afternoons I'll admit to watching The American President the four times it's on TNT. :-) Anytime you want to go to the movies, just call!

Television:

Except for the Daily Show, I only watch shows that were PREVIOUSLY on television, but anyone who knows me knows there's only one show that defines me: La Femme Nikita (Oh, and Amelita: Gar Hunter, but you'll never find that on TV! hehehe)

Books:

Reading to me is more a life skill. Who needs a million little pieces when you can read someone's countenance? But kudos to CS Lewis: one of my all-time faves is Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which, if it had a little comedy in it, would be the The Princess Bride of children's books.

Heroes:

Well, my parents are my heroes :-) but the only real life superhero in existence is someone I already DO know: Jimmy the Buddha!

Unstaple, staple; unstaple, staple

This is what I've been doing this whole week.  Fax comes in, front desk staples it.  It has to be scanned, I  have to unstaple it.  Records and bills come in, stapled.  Have t...

Sympathy for the devil

No one should be reading my blog today.  For several days I've been truly despondent and nothing good can ever come from that.  One day I might write about why, but it's too close ...

I'm delirious from the heat

I hate it that my first post after "welcome" is a bitch session, but it's currently 4:10 pm and I'm at work, sweating, of all things.  Now, if I worked in a sweatshop, that might seem to be a rea...

Well, since I couldn't keep up with my blog on Blogger, I don't know why I think I'm going to keep up with my blog on MySpace.  In fact, I can't believe that I'm actually ON MySpace -- wouldn't b...
