Oleg Schramm was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Got his music education by the age of 15. While studying, he won some local and regional competitions as a classical pianist. At the age 10 he accidentally picked up a concert Accordion, which became his another passion along with photography and home filmmaking. In later years he also picked up a Saxophone along with Drums and Bass Guitar.
By the age of 14 Oleg already started to play keyboards professionally with local bands for dance venues.
By the age of 17 he completed his high school education, and at 18 got his diploma in Electronic Automated Systems.
Life took sudden turn in 1984 when he got hired as a sound engineer to a traveling theater "ARLEKIN" from Moscow, which was on tour in town where Oleg lived at the time. He moved to Moscow. Three month later he became their permanent keyboard player, and later Music Director for next 6 years...
Year of 1990 became yet another milestone for Oleg. It was the year when he moved to United States. Starting again "from scratch" and overcoming all obstacles he just kept going... Finally in 1994 to his pleasant surprise Oleg got invited to work with country music legend Merle Haggard and his legendary band "Strangers" as a pianist. That was the best school Oleg ever attended, according to his own words.
In 1999 Oleg moved to Los Angeles and started to work for Steinway & Sons as a concert piano technician, (he had a quick education back in 1984 and years of experience later).
In 2002 Oleg met singer-songwriter Todd Smallwood and started to work as a Hammond Organ player with another music great - the legendary drummer MICK FLEETWOOD from "Fleetwood Mac". Sanctuary Records released in 2004 an album of Mick Fleetwood's Band called "Something Big". Oleg played all of the Hammond and Accordion parts, most Piano and Keyboards on this album, and also did some artwork for the booklet.
Currently, Oleg has four albums released with MERLE HAGGARD, where he plays Piano and Wurlitzer Piano. The albums are: "Merle Haggard 1996", "Peer Sessions", "If I Could Only Fly", and "Unforgettable" where Hag says: "This is the man from Moscow" on Oleg's piano solo on track 12 (Going Away Party).
Oleg recently signed a contract with Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment as a Composer and Producer.
He plays with the bands "LIMPOPO" and "RED ELVISES" as a keyboardist.
