Let's become friends and hopefully see u on the road!******************************************************* ************************************NINEVOLT BIOGRAPHYSince their arrival on the Rotterdam rockscene in 2004 NineVolt has been rocking the Netherlands with their explosive, rub-it-in-the-face power-rock. Lead singer Sven: “ We don’t have any pretentions about being the most innovative band; right now, we just wanna rock hardâ€.And that’s exactly what they did. Beginning as an underground act they started to play the local Rotterdam scene, creating a steady following .Their blend of traditional rock ( ranging from 90’s rockbands to the ancient dinosaurs of the 70’s ) and modern electro sounds, proved to attrack a wide variety of admirers. Lyrics about big city life with all it’s pittfalls, being incapable to adapt to society, and soulsearching through dreams were topics the audience quickly related to. Combined with their agressive stage-antics NineVolt showed the crowd they could entertain them, as well as serve them with a musical quality that could hardly be matched.A three year period of writing material and playing as much as possible, as well as burning out a series of managers, bookers and even a short-lived record-deal, resulted in NineVolt releasing their debut-album “NineVolt†in may 2007.Backed by Dutch top-producer Michel van Schie and lyricist Bart van Veen the album showcased the band in all it’s rock-glory, and the Dutch music-press embraced them as the big newcomers on the Dutch music-scene. Video’s for “Psycho Cowboy†and “Troubled Ride†, live favorites for years, were shot and recieved supporting airplay on TMF and 3voor12, two of the biggest music channels in Holland. Global festival-organisation Emergenza voted them Band Of The Benelux. Supported with all the liveshows, including big places like Paradiso, P60, The Effenaar and 013, the album proved to be a satisfying succes, now almost selling out it’s first pressing. For an independent release a big achievement.Now, a year later, NineVolt is retreating a bit to write their next album. As it looks now, the material will showcase a wider variety of moods. Guitarist Menno: “ Now’s a good time to show that allthough we rock hard, and always will, there are deeper layers to this band than as shown on our first album. As opposed to being a straight ahead rocker...this one will go deeper than that. It’s going to be a special treat. Very heartfelt.â€During this proces NineVolt is delighted to be invited to play the Jailbreak in Rome, Italy. As well as being a welcome break in their writing schedule, it’s also the first step into the international fields of music, something NineVolt feels as the way to go in the near future. As a matter of fact, they’re working on other European dates as well. “Hopefully Rome will be the kickoff for more European dates, so it looks like it’s going to be a hot summer for us!†according to bassman Glenn, and who dares arguing with him? We wouldn’t even try!
