About Me

Sound, food, Death Valley when I can get there. Evolutionary biology. Blistering hard techno, thundery, dark, driving, speaker worshipping hard techno. Isolationist spooky droning ambient noise. Glitch-hop. When I go to record stores, I actually buy records- not for DJ purposes. Some things just sound better on vinyl. I make better chocolate chip cookies than anyone. Period. My perfect recreational environment would be a large kitchen equipped with a giant PA system. Baking to the sound of Drumcode. To all my California friends, you are missed.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who watch NASA TV coverage of shuttle/ISS missions online with dub playing over the radio communications.

My Blog

Perspective

Funny how myspace doesn't have "Science in Hell" as a category for blogs.  Today I am working in Akbar and Jeff's Data Analysis Hut, for those of you who remember Akbar and Jeff.  My ass is ...

...it works.  Thapsigargin causes my HCT116 cells to very rapidly dump calcium from their endoplasmic reticula, and I can detect it.  Yay!

wiring under the board

Okay... no one should be surprised that the U.S. military has lost track of a large amount of weaponry given to disorganized allies.  (If you don't pay attention to the news, the 'big story' is h...

Six Ounce Gloves

I won't do this for many bands of this type.  Okay, I probably would only do this for this band.  I used to hang out from time to time with Six Ounce Gloves when they mostly just played Fres...

Gallus rockus

If you are that special sort of antisocial musical elitist known as a prog rock fan, you will love this.  If not, it is still worth the read just for the parts about Genesis, King Crimson, Phish,...
