MARCO SOENKE
DJ since the discovery of electricity, label owner, record dealer, promoter, writer and graphic designer Marco Soenke uses any given infamous opportunity to get attention in the spotlight. This disgusting behaviour was not only honored by the fact that he performed at almost every acclaimed club in the region of Frankfurt, but also nationwide. I'm terrified to say that in the end he even became resident DJ in Frankfurts world famous Cocoonclub.
But it’s getting even worse. Instead of concentrating on a particular style of music he combines various styles of sacred house music in his sets in a shameless style. With doubtless technical skills and a original set creation he mixes everything from melodic deep house to big room attacks and dirty jackin house music. And he finally suceeds with it, unbelievable.
I can’t even imagine that there are people out there who are supporting this crap. Those morons from the PUR magazine, where he’s one of the team members as graphic designer, writer and DJ. Or the very questionable Brickhouse record label, which has released tracks with works by the likes of Trentemøller, Switch, Tiefschwarz, Steve Angello or Boris Dlugosch – which I strongly believe could only have happened with the use of force. Also the famous agency Envy uses his so-called talents – and even pay for it. And after playing seven years in Frankfurts top location King Kamehameha Club without anybody interfering, he finally stumbled into Cocoonclub. I almost don’t dare to say this.
I was embarrassed to hear that major companies like Audi, Baccardi, Gaulois or Saatchi & Saatchi have hired him, sometimes again and again. Marco also regulary organized the excessive smart parties at the IAA car trade show in Frankfurt. Those freaks must be out of their minds.
At least he hasn’t released his own music until now. Apart from awkward attempts on a few CD mix compilations (actually they can be bought in regular shops) I haven’t heard anything else. But my stomach twists when I hear that he threads that this was just the beginning and even more is on the way. I f***ing hate Marco Soenke, but apparently I’m alone with this opinion ...
