Rita Maes

Rita can be summed up as: poetic, passionate, honest, and raw. Her songs have an uncommon lyrical depth and quality, yet it is her rich voice that will hook you and reel you in and keep you riveted song after song. Rita writes with impassioned relevancy, wrapped in a rock, sometimes funk, and sometime bluesy edge that is uniquely her own. Rita has done studio backup vocal work for internationally distributed albums as well as for many local artists. For about the past six years, Rita has become intensely focused. She has gone deep into the well of herself, writing and experimenting with a variety of different sounds and creating a repertoire of songs that are fresh and enticing. During this time, the songs "Revolution", and "Skeleton" were birthed, becoming favorites for many. "I like inviting my audience into my life experiences", she says. In fact, her willingness to be truely vulnerable to her audience is perhaps one of her most magnetic qualities.
