Johnnie Lust and the Disciples of Dust started as a recording project late 2008 involving friends that had been playing music together on and off for many years. The group traded instruments and would record songs Eric had written (sometimes the day of recording them !). Sessions went so well that it was decided that a cd of the recordings would be released and shows would be played. The initial run of the disc “My Sword is Sharp†that was released Spring 2009 has nearly sold out and a 2nd album “The Bleeding Lipâ€, has been recorded, mixed and mastered, now scheduled to be available for sale at shows starting mid-Summer 2009. Most of the bands music is rooted in the classic rock sounds that ruled the airwaves in the 1970’s, but at the same time they show the ability to facilitate many styles of music. The band consists of Eric LeClair playing bass guitar and singing lead vocals. Eric has been writing and recording since he was 8 years old and handles writing the tunes, as well. Jeff Foran is on drums and background vocals, with Jonas Levasseur rounding out the trio on lead guitar. All three members are competent on each others instruments so one can never anticipate what might happen at a ‘Lust’ show.
