This page is set up for people interested in my visual art. I have a personal page too.About the work. I love materials, working with traditional and non- traditional mediums. I believe there is a certain amount of baggage of using canvas and brush, so while I love traditional oil on canvas..I take pleasure in finding different ways to make marks that are more specific to the concept of the piece at hand. I love printmaking and ceramics..I use print techniques in my painting, and take ineterest in alchemy, transformation and manifestation.Conceptually, I work with ideas of alchemy, manifestation....history, legend, sprituality. I love the feeling that the unseen world surrounds us, that our ancestors whisper to us. I employ some current feminist theories ...although they are not overt, rather functioning like much of the sexism in our culture: covert. I love the idea that symbols carry weight even if we do not recognize them, or understand them, sort of like an echo of meaning. I work with concepts of archetypes, and the reclamation of lost histories. My Italian heritage is important to me, being raised in the superstitious Catholic way where my great grandomther could giver or take the malocchio. I could go on..but that's a good start. I am also working on a body of work that uses text and image from old texts about women; how they should behave, dress, etc. It's pretty scary what you find when you start looking. all work is for sale, most are available as the original piece or prints of the original.
