Its been an unbelievable adventure for the Toronto soul artist CJ Luvchild, known for his powerful lyrics, diverse style and catchy melodies. CJ grew up exposed to diverse lifestyles, being the son of a pastor and a student of the arts he was able to use these very different experiences to develop a strong talent for writing and singing music. He has written for and collaborated with the likes of Canada’s own Kardinal Offishall, Hero and Andrew Whiteman (Broken Social Scene, Apostle of Hustle) Some of his musical influences include Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield.With more than 100 shows under his belt touring with Funk artist Bobby Dreadfull & The B.F.S. Including NXNE festival-Toronto, Canadian Music Week, BT television, Afro-Fest-Calgary, SummerLove Fest- Barrie,Ont. to name a few. CJ is set for his solo album release this spring 2010 when he will also set off on his North American tour. His soul/rock r&b fusion translates beautifully onstage backed by an Upright Bass, Drums, Guitar, and Keys. With his demo being played on campus and internet radio stations, CJ has received vast amounts of praise from Djs and critics across the world. Including praise for the incredibly catchy Rock/Pop single ‘Exotic Sugar’ which features an eye-catching video directed by award-winning George Vale(Sum41,Feist) (can be viewed on YouTube).He is a performer, and is not afraid to push himself to the limit. By hosting shows (cipher on Rogerss cable) and performing in showcases, CJ has proven himself to be audience friendly. In 1999, Classic Entertainment released the first single done wrong which became a huge success receiving campus radio play from Toronto to Los Angeles. In the fall of 2001 Classic Entertainment released the greatly anticipated 12†single knock her and video. In 2001 released another blazing cut whatcha want featured on ISBA compilation, Rap Essentials.
