The Thorn Bird
There is a legend about a bird which sings just once in its life, more sweetly than any other creature on the face of the earth. from the moment it leaves the nest it searches for a thorn tree, and does not rest until it has found one. Then, singing among the savage branches, it impales it- self upon the longest, sharpest spine. And, dying, it rises above its own agony to out- carol the lark and the nightingale. One superlative song, existence the price. But the whole world stills to listen, and God in His heaven smiles. For the best is only brought at the cost of great pain. Or so says the legend.
ANNABEL LEE

I'm a collage student majoring in History and eventually I want to be a High School History teacher. I am a writer and have been working on a book about the American Civil War since I was about 16. I write tons of short stories most are historical fiction. I was born and raised here is good old San Diego. I want to travel the world before I die. I love History take one look at who my heroes are and you can see that. I know random stuff about history that no one I know really cares about. I have never been one to follow the mold. I never want to be anything but what I already am. I am who I am and I'm not changing anything soon, so if you don't like it don't talk to me it’s your loss. I like being random, I have some weird interests if you can't already tell. I am also a big fan of Latin and would one day love to learn it as well as French. I love Roses especially white and black. Anything medieval, ancient, or from the Renaissance. My Favorite animals are Black Panthers.
