Demented BioDemented started in 1999 as a two men hobby band, in Norrtälje/ Sweden.
The two were Robert Lantz , Guitar and Chris Larsson, Drums.
In the year of 2000, a second guitarist joined the band, Kenneth Lantz.
And in the beginning of 2001, bassplayer Daniel Karlsson joined.
In 2002 Chris Larsson had to leave the band after two demos and a few
gigs. The band wasn´t active until 2003 when a new drummer
named Jakob Hallegren was recruited. Since then Demented have
released three demos Thrash, Demented and Enter the chamber. Demented will record a new demo in the beginning of 2007. It will be the first with Pirre on vocal.
From Deaththrasher magazine:
DEMENTED (Sweden) Enter the Chamber (MCD) Recorded in 2006. All music & lyrics by DEMENTED mixed & mastered by Kenneth Lantz - DEMENTED 2006.- We have here to the aggressive Swedish Thrashers of DEMENTED, presenting to us their Demo 2006 that is truly an excellent work, the presentation is good, full colored, includes a photo of the band. DEMENTED has influences of bands like SLAYER and TESTAMENT, if you put Tom Araya, Chuck Billy and one pinch of James Hetfield in a giant mixer, you will quickly obtain in a glass the vocal essence of DEMENTED, from Hetfield it has just a bit, almost nothing, only some tunes and passages where the vocal register is similar, but it has many more from Tom Araya and Chuck Billy, the percussion and the guitars definitively are influenced by SLAYER.
The first theme is Inbreed that from the beginning attacks with powerful riffs, pounding drums per moments, very good election to open this disc, the second track is Under the Ground, a wild song, with guitars ala Reign In Blood, in this theme I perceive per moments the tunes of Hetfield in his best time, the solos are crushing, very SLAYER! , there is nothing to do; the fast vocal parts are even in the vein of Araya! The third track is the one that gives name to the disc, Enter the Chamber, right to the mosh! What a good theme! the riffs dominate you from the beginning! , this it is the longest song of the disc, the only one that is more than 4 minutes long, I must stress the precision of this band, the synchronization is extraordinary! , soon we have Swing the Hatchet, very good riffs, the changes are brilliant, in spite of the well-known influences, there is a lot of creativity in between here, the truth is that I have stayed stupid because of this disc, the penultimate theme is Realm of Life, another cannibal track, this is the perfect disc to mosh from the begging to the end! As it must be! aggression to discretion, beastly solos, rotten redoubles, heartless drums, all the ingredients needed to not leave off wet you fucking pants while you feel the wrath of these Nordic mastodons, to close this great disc we have the theme Seven, another Thrash orgy that gives the closing to this tremendous production, I think that it is a must to all Underground soldier to get this disc, if you do not have Enter the Chamber between your collection you should not have the rudeness of call yourself Thrasher!!!
