About Me

I spend way too much time online, on account of the fact that I don't have a real job. I'm not quite sure how it happened, but apparently I got a BA and an MBA so that I could turn into a housewife (although any day now I'm going to start working on the next Great American Novel... HONEST!) When I'm not online, I'm generally either cooking, in the garden, at the piano, or causing trouble. Or shopping. I'm your basic tree-hugging left-wing liberal and always thinking about how to best solve all the problems in the world, which is probably why I'm often accused of "thinking too much."

My Interests

Gardening, vegetarian and vegan cooking, cake decorating, classic cars (ok, so I'm crazy about cars, period), theater and concerts, playing the piano, singing, travel, Airstreams, writing, antiques, fiber arts, bowling.

I'd like to meet:

I hate to give the same old stale answer, but I'd like to meet people who are into intelligent, honest conversation. Happy, confident BBWs and admirers are most definitely welcome here! I'm also a fan of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and would like to meet other INTPs.

Music:

I have very eclectic tastes but am definitely partial to Country and Western, Classical, Big Band, Standards, Jazz and the Blues.

Movies:

I love old movies, especially musicals from Hollywood's "Golden Age" and silent movies, and I always enjoy heading to the theater to see current films. I don't always appreciate "chick flicks," although I will admit that steamy romances are definitely appreciated here! I seem to have a thing for Japanese films (although I'm not crazy about anime). Honestly, my Netflix queue is pretty diverse. I am ashamed to admit that I'm a sentimental fool and my eyes tear up at the end of most movies.

Television:

I've been a South Park fan since the very first episode aired, and I LOVE Iron Chef. As far as reality shows go, I'm a fan of Survivor and The Amazing Race, although I took a break from the last season. And is it really all that wrong to admit that I still miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel?

Books:

Cookbooks, honey! In general, I tend to turn to non-fiction, but one all-time favorite piece of fiction is "The Red Tent."
