HEATMEN TOUCH IZ IN THE BUILDING!!!

About Me

my name is jean songe A.K.A "CLASSICS" I live in RENNES, FRANCE. I'm a songwriter/arranger/producer/musician. I play drums, guitar, bass, glockenspiel, harmonica & different kind of percussions. I put up the HEATMEN TOUCH, a crew of producers/musicians with some friends a few years ago. You got SHERKHAN (a talented multi-instrumentist who now lives in jamaica and is currentely working with the one & only SIZZLA), ROCK (a drummer/programmer/arranger/D.j/graffity master and killer on the keaboards, especially on the rhodes due to his love for the 70's SOUL/FUNK era), J-QUARM (a talented multi-instrumentist who used to play drums in a PUNK group and bass in another one), "HERO" (guitar-hero/bassist extraordinaire who comes from the ROCK game), KLM (trumpet player and manager of the HEATMEN more HIP-HOP driven), AXEL FOLEY (the HIP-HOP/R&B addict on communication), and you got me: "CLASSICS" (more R&B/SOUL oriented). Our different musical influences makes us more open-minded when it comes to music. Cause that's what we're talkin about: music is the epicenter of the crew. It is what makes us live, think and breath. I wrote, arranged and produced "Promesses" an R&B track for songstress INES released in a local compilation in 2001. I even arranged and produced INES' vocals on this track. ROCK also produced 2 tracks in the same compilation which were freestyles from local cats. With my boy SHERKHAN we produced, arranged and played "Au bout de ton nez" for rapper SKAP'1 off his "Corde vocale" album released a few months ago. With my dawg ROCK we produced, arranged and played "Je t'attends" for local group 100 TRANSITIONS and I also produced "Playa, playa" for them (which I co-arranged and played with my dawg ROCK). These tracks are from their album released a few months ago. ROCK orchestrated, produced & arranged "Lidl M.C's", a compilation with RENNES' purest talents like SIMBA, ARM or AMBITIEUX... He also did the a&r job for "9 km 450" another local compilation in which he produced one track. And to definitely prove that he's a force to be reconed with, he produced tracks for LEXX COOP in his "Lexx Files" street tape and another one in SIMBA's first solo ep "1ère émission". KLM produced a track in AZIM's last effort "L'écume de la vague" and J-QUARM did somes chorus in the HIP-DROP's last project. But we got more to come and projects are comin so quickly! you'd better stay tuned!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet cool and interesting people and I also stop by to show how we do in France. But it would also be sooo cool to meet the people who influenced me in my music...it kinda seems a little naive or dreamy but I can't deny the fact that I would love to work with them...these men are the ones below (eventhough it's just a part of the people who influenced me...)
