Hosted by long-time producer and essayist Gwen Macsai, Re:sound brings you intriguing radio stories, culled from around the world and ranging from experimental sound art to investigative documentaries. Re:sound airs on 91.5 FM/Chicago Public Radio and streams live at chicagopublicradio.org at 2PM on Saturdays.
It's a competition:
The Third Coast Festival/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition annually awards the most creative and compelling audio work being made worldwide. Prizes are awarded for: Best Documentary, Best New Artist, Radio Impact and Lifetime Achievement.
It's a conference:
Held in Chicago each year, the Third Coast Festival Conference offers the opportunity for producers of all experiance levels to meet and discuss the art and craft of making documentary audio work. The Conference culminates with a festive awards ceremony.
It's a public listening series:
The Third Coast Festival Listening Room series regularly invites radio ethusiasts to gather and discuss an eclectic assortment of audio work in a group setting.
It's a broadcast:
Each Fall, the Third Coast Festival Broadcast features winning work from the Third Coast Festival/Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Competition, producer interviews and highlights from the awards ceremony. The broadcast is distributed nationally by Public Radio International and is available through the Public Radio Exchange .
