About Me

Tulips on Troost is a coalition of business and individuals working with the Southtown Foundation to transform the public's perception of Troost Avenue. Our goal is to plant one million tulips by Spring 2010 in honor of one of our Dutch city founders, Dr. Benoist Troost. We are working with businesses, neighborhood residents and community volunteers along the Troost corridor from 23rd street to 95th streets to develop and maintain flower beds of annuals and green spaces to enhance the tulip plantings. We are actively asking businesses on Troost to increase their landscaping budgets and to beautify their private grounds in addition to seeking their contributions for public community spaces which will be planted and maintained by our volunteers. This will be the first step in out on-going efforts to transform a neglected urban street into an environment of hope and vision for the future.

Please visit our MySpace Photo Album to view Don Ipock's photos of our first (2007) season.
