Captain Bonnet

My character is Captain Josiah Bonnet, "gentleman" privateer/pirate and Master of the Revenge.
There was a real pirate named Bonnet who sailed with Blackbeard, and I have adopted his surname, ship and flag.

Bonnet's flag is said to represent a "pirate’s scale," warning the prey that the balance of mercy (the heart) against death (the dagger) may tip against them if they do not promptly surrender. This flag was one of several taken from real-life accounts and used in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End as the flag of Capitaine Chevalle.
While the real Bonnet was not much of a sailor or pirate, I hope to be a better one!
