FATED NATION

It all started about 13 years ago, when Dave, Mart and a couple of other college friends had an idea to start a band playing the grunge type music they were into at the time. Well, to cut a long story a bit shorter, various line ups took place over the next few years, singers came and went, drummers and bass players did too...
Eventually they came across Phil (not literally) in the local pub who ended up singing and playing bass. Shortly after that they managed to get a drummer and that was their line up sorted for the next few years where they would be known as the band "Tyrant", although the music had now undergone a rather radical shift towards death and heavy metal. They did a number of gigs around the Durham and Newcastle areas of the North East before recording their demo "First Insight" then eventually going their seperate ways in late 1996.
Over the next few years Dave and Mart continued to record their own music at home, and due to one or two other reasons they decided to get back into the music scene. So that was that, they got to work on recording some new material with Dave on vocals. After some searching on the net, they managed to find Phil and asked if he'd like to have a bash on bass again. In mid 2006 they advertised for a drummer and after a few auditions with various people found Steve who completed the line up for "Fated Nation".
Taking a slightly different musical approach again they now lend themselves more towards a traditional rock style, also being influenced by their old grunge and heavy metal era's. Gone are the ten minute "shred" guitar solo's and technical time signatures. Things now are all about the melody, the groove and the fun of playing music.
