I
was born to the mortal world in 1895 in Columbus, Ohio. I broke my leg and was taken to an out of town hospital where a handsome young Dr. Cullen tended to me. There was something intriguing about him that I couldn't explain. At that moment I knew I would never forget his face. In 1917 at the age of 22,
I married Charles
Evenson.
He was an abusive man but my parents told me that I should keep quiet. Charles was drafted into the military during World War I.
Shortly after his return from the war in 1919 I became pregnant. I left Charles in 1920 for I couldn't bear to bring a child into an abusive home.
I found myself in a small community called Ashland where I became a school teacher. My baby, a son, died in 1921 of a lung infection only a few days after I gave birth. I was 26 years old.
I became distraught for I had nothing left to live for. I threw myself off of a cliff in Ashland hoping the fall would end my life.
Carlisle had been working at the hospital in Ashland where I was taken after my attempted suicide. He had remembered me as young, happy girl. He couldn't let me die. Carlisle saved me from death and now I am truly happy.
