About Me

I am a Norwegian woman who live and work in Paris. I concider myself very fortunate to be able to pursue a creative career and move around in the world at the same time! I love making things with my hands, and meeting and working with other people with skills and talents of all sorts. It drives and inspires me even further. Please have a look at some of my photos of my work, and further down you will find a little more about my career!
Work portfolio

Here are a few examples of my work... Enjoy the show!

I was taught how to use a sewing machine and to do hand embroidery at a very young age, and have always made things. As a teenager I decided I wanted to become a physiotherapist, I guess I never realised a creative career was possible! I changed my mind just in time to make the right choice of school, and I started ESMOD Int. in 1998. The two first years in Oslo I did pattern cutting, fashion design and dressmaking. The second year also included tailored suits for women, childrens wear design and marketing. In my third and last year I went to Paris to specialise in costumes for theatre, film and opera. After graduating I moved to London to start my career. I worked in a fabric and haberdashery shop (MacCulloch & Wallis) for two and a half years. The great amount of product knowledge I gained working there has been invaluable. At the same time I did a lot of freelance work until I moved back to Oslo for 11 months in 2003/2004. My work here included freelance work making costumes and clothes, and Unik Brudestudio - a wedding shop where I sold, fitted and altered wedding dresses and accessories. Moved back to London again and started straight back at my old job in the fabric & haberdashery shop, and shortly after started working for the Lion King – puppets and masks department - in the West End as well. Six months later I went freelance fulltime, and after two years I was offered a full-time position at the Lion King which I gladly accepted! The Lion King taught me a new aspect of the creative insustry, namely the puppets, masks and accessories. And I found myself loving it and good at it, because of my ability to see 3D shapes as flat patterns. Working on a theatre production also requires quick problem solving and action during the show when things break. Then in July 2007 I got the opportunity to move to Paris to work on the new Lion King production there, Le Roi Lion. As the only person in my team who had worked on the show before, I was able to guide and teach my colleagues. I have been here for two years already, and it has been great. Thank you everyone who has been a part of this wonderful experience!
