About Me

I live my life with unbridled enthusiasm as if suddenly transformed into Marlo Thomas on "That Girl."I am finishing my dissertation on Mod Culture in Communication at the University of Pittsburgh. As of January 2008 I have a book contract for it with Peter Lang publishers. They have a series called "Mediated Youth" that my book will be a part of. My working title at the moment is: "Mod: The Transnational History of a Youth Culture." My research for the project combines interviews with Mods past and present and archival research about the evolution of Mod from the late fifties to the present in the UK, US, Germany, and Japan. It's current projected publication date is early 2010.I'm still looking for a few more interviews with Mod women in the U.S. If you or someone you know would be interested, please email me here!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jacques Dutronc, Michael Caine, the "Kids" from the "Up" documentaries, Eddie Izzard, and either Ringo or Macca.
