I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. At an early age I was exposed to many different types of music. My Father is a Jazz drummer, and my Mother who is Puerto Rican loves her Salsa.......so drums and congas are in my soul. I stepped behind a set of turntables when I was 12, and it was a wrap at that point. I played mostly hip-hop as it was in it's infancy in the early 80's (we didn't even call it that back then), cutting school to watch DJ Kool Herc and DJ Jazzy Jay do their thing in the Bronx. But one evening changed my life......a family friend got me into the Paradise Garage (I never looked my age...lol), and I saw the Master Larry Levan control the crowd like The Pied Piper.......I never looked back. I became one with House Music. I still love my "true" hip hop, but House is magic.......Amor De Rey!
