[NOTE about above featured song: I recorded "This Year For Christmas" over 10+ YEARS AGO. It was written by a girl I used to be in a rock and roll band with. She had introduced me to the original song two days before we went into the studio. If you listen closely...you will hear that it is me singing all of the background vocals as well!

One of the many things that makes me very proud is that I have been given the standing honor of singing the National Anthem annually at "The Blessing of The Bikes." I have enjoyed doing so for the past THREE years and have committed to continuing to do so until the end of my world....or until they give me the boot! hehe. This HUGE fund-raising/biker event benefiting "A Special Wish Foundation" and "AMBUCKS" draws 1000's of bikes and takes place annually on the THIRD Sunday in May. Previously, it's been held at the Nutter Center at Wright State University. However, since the Blessing has grown so much, the festivities have been moved to Welcome Stadium at 1601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd. in Dayton to allow more space for the 1000's of bikes that attend. I am so very proud to be part of this awesome event! The '09 Blessing of the Bikes was chilly, but magnificent with blue skies and a rainbow which appeared just as the actual blessing took place! $5,832 was made to be split between the charities of Ambucks/Greenebucks & A Spacial Wish Foundation.. I'm guessing that there were around 5,000 bikes who participated this year. And, if you consider that at least half of the bikes had a passenger, we are talking 7,500 people. Of course, this does not count those of us who are not as fortunate to have ridden there on a bike ;-) PLEASE check out my 2009 BLESSING OF THE BIKES photo album. I've got some great pictures there!
I have also had the pleasure of singing for various charity events & fund raisers. There is nothing that feels better than to be able to use my God-given voice to help others.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
