Shelves that are screwed to the wall and laden with heavy books may crash down at any moment. After one particular falling shelf incident I formed a band called Shelves Fall Down, with Mike Outram, John Edwards and Steve Dakiz. Unfortunately it got listed somewhere as Shells Falling Down when I booked a gig over the phone. So I changed the name to Grevling and we played Norwegian folk music. This was the origin of my Norwegian group, which is now called Moldvarp (there was already a band called Grevling).
Later I formed a trio (with John Edwards and Gene Calderazzo) and called it Shelf Unit. Shelf units rarely fall down - only apart or over. Gene seemed unimpressed with our only gig, so next time I invited Thebe Lipere and Jackie Walduck - and I liked it. Hope you do too. Interesting story, eh? No.
